Aspen Kbase® (ICARUS 2000®) is a fully integrated design, estimating, and scheduling system designed to help evaluate the capital cost of process plants quickly in the early stage of the project life cycle.   

With as little information as a list of sized equipment and general arrangement of a project, Larkspur Associates utilizes Aspen Kbase® (ICARUS 2000®) to develop a complete and detailed engineering, procurement, and construction estimate and schedule.  Because Aspen Kbase® (ICARUS 2000®) automatically performs mechanical designs for equipment and bulks, using self contained international design, estimating and scheduling procedures, you have detailed answers you need at the 3-5% stage of engineering.  The system contains models and data which are based on industry-standard design codes and construction practices.

Larkspur Associates LLC has extensive experience using the Kbase®/ICARUS 2000® system for all phases of estimates.  From conceptual to definitive type estimates, our experience with the system allows us to make the appropriate adjustments needed to satisfy different industry usages.

Our association with ICARUS® tools spans 28 years and our knowledge of the system has provided our clients the ability to evaluate several capital cost options with minimum engineering expenditure.  We also have the capabilities to customize output reports to meet the clients needs.

Larkspur Associates LLC uses the WinEst Pro Plus® and Prism Project Estimator software packages to create detailed cost estimates.  Both programs are database driven spreadsheet programs with a great deal of flexibility that allows the user to customize databases for different industries and report costs based on a defined Work Breakdown Structure.  Larkspur's detailed estimates are based on a customized database containing historical values for the industries we serve.

Scheduling Tools:

Scheduling software utilized include Primavera Project Planner® (P3®) and Microsoft® Project 2000.  Our services include the preparation and analysis of project schedules as well as updating them based on actual project progress.  Schedules are tailored to meet client specific needs of project work breakdown structures and resource loading.

Cost Control:

Larkspur Associates LLC uses Prism Project Manager as our main cost control and reporting tool.  We are currently assisting our clients with their cost control needs utilizing the cost and procurement modules of the software.  This tool allows us to import the baseline estimate, develop schedule interfaces, and periodically report the cost and progress on our client's projects.
